Amanda had an exciting opportunity today to experience a little skiing herself. There is an organization in Bozeman called Eagle Mount whose website gives this mission statement:
Eagle Mount Bozeman is committed to provide quality therapeutic recreational opportunities for people with disabilities and young people with cancer, and to provide support for families of participants so that “they shall mount up with wings as eagles.” (Isaiah 40:31)
Big Sky's program manager for Eagle Mount, Chad Biggerstaff, spoke with Thomas on Saturday about taking Amanda down in a special chair allowing her to experience the slopes even though she is not physically able to ski at this time. Awesome. I was wondering if my girl would be able to go up those ski lifts since she has a fear of heights, but Amanda never showed any signs of hesitation or fear. She was strapped in a chair that Chad skied behind and controlled and Tom skied along right behind them. Pretty amazing.
She was strapped in very securely. |
The seat she was in sits on the lift seat and she rides the lift up to get the full experience. |
Off they went! |
Chad skied behind and used the orange straps to control her chair. |
This is actually where they hold Chapel services, on top of the mountain. What an amazing place to gather and worship! |
Another outstanding day for Team Watson in Montana.
Isaiah 40:28-31
Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
You go girl!
