Day five. Cycle
twelve. The long awaited day is
here.
Amanda hasn’t felt as good this chemo week
like she has in the past. The last two
days she has been very weak and felt bad.
If I have learned anything, it is that I shouldn’t try and predict how
she will feel no matter how badly she may feel today. So rather than worry about what the next three
weeks will be like, I’m going to just wait and see.
As I think
about our journey of chemo coming to the end I find it hard to put into words how good this feels. Seeing
how Amanda reacted after taking her last dose tonight made me laugh. The relief on her face and the way she just
relaxed was a beautiful sight to me. It’s
like her entire countenance has changed since she took her medicine even though
she is still feeling weak. That is
another reason why I wonder what these next three weeks will bring. I think the mental side of knowing she is done will
play a HUGE role in how she feels each day.
We will go back to Dell for her Avastin infusion and WBC
booster shot next week. We anticipate
her counts will drop again and then bounce back in early July. Her next MRI is June 30 and we will most likely
go back a week after the scans to receive the results. From
there, we will have a better idea of what the near future will look like as far
as our appointment and MRI schedule go.
Tonight, we are celebrating this milestone. We will stay up late and play games, laugh and
enjoy the happiness we all feel. Amanda has requested a cookie cake and we are discussing which movie to start with. Sounds wonderful!
Since a chemo cycle
lasts 28 days, I hereby declare the month of June a month of celebration for
Team Watson. Oh happy
day!
Colossians 3:15
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

Caught her and Ginger doing a happy dance in the kitchen tonight. That is one happy girl! |
Tom's plate came in today - we surprised her at dinner with it. |
So glad that she felt up to making my niece's graduation Friday night. It was lovely weather and we were happy to cheer on Katie Bug! |
